Motor controller -Revelation II

The motor and its control system play a decisive role in vinyl playback, profoundly influencing the listening experience. Since standard solutions on the market could not meet our exacting standards, we chose to develop a proprietary motor control system. This includes specialized sensor technology and custom-designed software. The result is an extraordinary sonic experience that will captivate you. We invite you to experience the quality for yourself!
Sensor
Our high-precision industrial sensor features an asymmetric three-point measurement to ensure exact results. The low-noise power supply guarantees precise and reliable readings. By directly measuring the platter speed, a consistent rotation is maintained across the entire playback range of the record. This allows the varying drag of the cartridge during playback to be optimally compensated.

Controller
Our motor controllers feature two dedicated processors: one handles the control calculations, while the second accurately reads the high-precision time signal. We employ PID controllers that can be fine-tuned via our app, depending on the motor controller configuration.
A highly precise 16-bit digital-to-analog converter operates on an extremely low-noise, meticulously engineered power supply, allowing all 65,536 control steps to be fully utilized for unparalleled speed and accuracy in platter regulation.

Solid chassis
As with the Revelation I series, the front panel is crafted from a massive, precision-milled aluminum plate. To optimize costs, the main chassis is constructed from stainless steel.
Advanced technologies are fully integrated, including our third-generation Powerblock system, which provides an exceptionally stable, low-resonance mounting for vibration-sensitive capacitors. In addition, our patented PCB design ensures that the signal remains completely free from disruptive resonances, preserving the purity and clarity of the music.
Motor
In our drives, we use an ironless DC motor from the renowned Swiss manufacturer Maxon. Equipped with precious metal brushes and sintered bearings, it ensures exceptionally quiet operation. The ironless design eliminates cogging, providing a perfectly smooth rotation of the platter. Before installation, each motor undergoes a rigorous run-in process and is carefully selected, so that only the finest examples make it into our turntables.

Controlled via app
Our motor controllers can be configured via Bluetooth using our dedicated app. A standout feature is that the three different PID controllers allow the control parameters to be adjusted directly within the app, enabling fine-tuning of the turntable’s sound.
The factory‑preset characteristics of the three motor mappings are as follows:
-
Dynamic – optimized for a lively, open, and highly detailed playback.
-
Harmonic – for a relaxed, expansive, and musical presentation.
-
Pure – minimal intervention, engaging only when speed deviations exceed 0.5%.
