Tonearm - Revelation I

Tonarm Rev2 ganz.jpg

The design of this tonearm is based on the KISS principle (Keep It Simple and Straight). Each component of the tonearm has its own resonance frequency and can potentially introduce interference into the overall system. A key challenge was to minimize these disturbances while ensuring ease of use and long-term stability. The minimalist design aims to provide a clear and controlled path for energy flow.

Selected materials

As a standout feature of the 9-, 10.5-, and 12-inch tonearms, all sonically critical components are crafted from high-strength titanium. This high-tech material not only provides exceptional rigidity, minimizing resonance, but its low mass also ensures precise tracking of every groove signal without any delay.

Thanks to titanium’s optimal resonance characteristics, unwanted noise is effectively suppressed, allowing even the finest details to emerge with crystal-clear resolution. The result is a rich yet airy sound that places voices and instruments naturally in space, delivering an impressively three-dimensional soundstage—even during the most complex musical passages at the highest level.

High-precision bearing

For our tonearms, we rely on six precisely selected micro ball bearings, crafted in Japan. Conventional adjustable bearing designs often lead to inconsistencies in performance, so we have avoided this approach. Instead, we use a system in which the bearings are mounted with perfectly matched bearing sets of three balls, secured with high force.

This design ensures an exceptionally smooth rotation and provides extremely stable guidance for the tonearm. The load is evenly distributed across the balls, resulting in outstanding durability and robustness—even with the high precision tolerances of under 1 micron.

Energy flow management

A key element of our turntable technology is the controlled management of energy, particularly resonances. During stylus tracking, a significant amount of energy is generated, which is dissipated through the platter and bearing, as well as through the tonearm and its base. Reflections of vibrations can cause significant cancellations that negatively affect sound quality.

Our Revelation I tonearm is specifically engineered to channel this energy precisely and efficiently. Its specially designed single-sided bearing allows for exact control of energy flow, ensuring optimal musical performance and a fully immersive listening experience.

Signal wiring

All of our cable range, as well as the internal wiring for our tonearms, is developed in-house and manufactured exclusively for us in Germany. We use high-purity copper with an ultra-thin Teflon insulation to ensure optimal transmission of the most delicate signals. An additional cryogenic treatment further refines the transmission quality. The mechanically robust cartridge pins provide excellent handling and long-term stable contact performance. This cable is also available by the meter.

9-inch version

The Revelation I tonearm is available in three carefully engineered lengths – 9", 10.5", and 12" – to optimally accommodate a wide range of turntable setups and tracking geometries.

The compact 9" version offers maximum stiffness and is ideal for systems where minimizing resonance is of paramount importance.

10,5-inch version

The 10.5" version achieves a balanced compromise between compliance and bearing precision, making it ideal for standard turntables with a medium-length tonearm.

12-inch version

The 12" version, finally, provides the longest possible overhang, minimizes tracking angle errors, and ensures excellent channel separation along with an exceptionally open and three-dimensional soundstage—perfect for audiophile setups where every nuance of the groove is meant to be heard.
